This small volume has been written to supply a demand for a book on the subject, and the exhaustion of the 1st edition within six months is the hpst testimonial to the success of this object. Beyond some re-arrangement of the first chapter and some short additional section, the book is unaltered. It is a concise and handy guide to a subject, which, as the author points out in his preface, is only too liable to abuse at the hands of unlearned and irresponsible persons. We strongly recommend it to our readers, who even if they are not in position to put the instruction into practice, will from a perusal of it be in a position to give advice as to the
